Floky No-Strain Arm Sleeve review — Does Tapia’s sleeve prevent tennis elbow?
Does the Floky No-Strain Arm Sleeve, as worn by Agustin Tapia, really work to prevent tennis elbow and other arm injuries? We review after 12-months of use.
The FLOKY No-Strain arm sleeve is one of those padel accessories you notice everywhere before you ever try it yourself. It’s worn on the Premier Padel tour by players like Agustín Tapia and Mike Yanguas.
That kind of visibility naturally raises expectations, and generates sales by association, but is the FLOKY No-Strain arm sleeve worth it, and does it live up to the hype?
After using the FLOKY No-Strain sleeve religiously for over twelve months, across multiple weather conditions, and 4–5 games per week, I’ve got a pretty clear sense of where it genuinely shines, where it divides opinion, and who it’s actually for.
This isn’t a sports science breakdown. It’s a player’s review, grounded in feel, habit, confidence, and long-term use.
First things first: sizing matters (more than FLOKY admits)
Let’s start with the elephant in the room: the sizing.
Based on the official size guide, I initially bought the M/L, which technically should have fit my arm. I’m 6ft 2, slender, and wouldn’t describe myself as particularly muscular. On paper, M/L seemed right.
In reality? It was too small.

After a couple of sessions, it became obvious that the compression was on the aggressive side. Not painful, but restrictive enough that it subtly encouraged rigidity in my arm. I still use the M/L occasionally (when the others are in the wash), but the difference is night and day compared to the L/XL, which is now my go-to.
Once I moved up a size, everything clicked.
I genuinely think FLOKY could revisit their sizing guidance. If you’re on the border, size up. Even if you don’t consider yourself built, padel movements demand flow and elasticity, not constant tension.
The feeling on court: subtle, supportive, confidence-boosting
When I finally got the right size, I immediately understood the appeal.
The best way I can describe the FLOKY sleeve isn’t that it “locks” your arm — it frames your movement.
I have a fairly reliable kick smash, one that relies on keeping the hitting arm relaxed through the motion and finishing in the correct pronation. With the FLOKY sleeve on, I felt less inclined to over-extend or muscle the shot. It subtly encouraged a smoother, more controlled swing path.
The same applied to viboras. There was a sense of containment — not restriction — that made it easier to trust the swing without forcing it.
That said, there is an adaptation period.
Give it time: the 5–10 game adjustment window
If you’ve never played with a compression sleeve before, expect an adjustment phase.
For me, it took around 5–10 games to stop subconsciously stiffening my arm in response to the compression. Early on, it’s easy to mistake “support” for “brace” and play a little too tight.

Once you relax into it, the sleeve stops feeling like something you’re wearing and starts feeling like something that’s missing when it’s not there.
Which leads me to this…
Playing without the FLOKY arm sleeve now feels odd
After six months of consistent use, playing without the FLOKY sleeve feels genuinely strange. Not painful — just unfamiliar.
On the rare occasions I forget to pack it, I notice my arm feels more exposed, less guided. Again, this probably is psychological. I’m not claiming magic biomechanical intervention here.
But padel is a sport built on confidence, rhythm, and repetition. Anything that reinforces those patterns — even mentally — has value.
Does the FLOKY arm sleeve prevent tennis elbow?
I’ve suffered from tennis elbow in the recent past, so I’m cautious about bold claims.
I’m not a physiotherapist. I’m not qualified to validate FLOKY’s biomechanical marketing. What I can say is this:
The psychological effect of wearing the FLOKY arm sleeve is excellent.
Whether it’s placebo or not, I feel more controlled when playing shots like the bajada or chiquita. Odd, opposing, examples, perhaps — but those compact, technical shots benefit hugely from staying close to the ball with a soft bend in the arm.

The sleeve almost acts as a reminder to stay compact and controlled.
Have I had any injuries since wearing it?
No.
Is that purely because of the sleeve?
Almost certainly not.
Bad technique, unsuitable rackets, and individual physiological predispositions don’t disappear because you put a sleeve on. The FLOKY should be part of a holistic approach: technique work, sensible equipment choices, rest, and professional medical advice if needed.
Winter padel & warmth: an underrated benefit
One area where the FLOKY sleeve really comes into its own is winter padel.
Keeping the arm warm between points and games matters more than people realise. With the sleeve on, my arm warms up faster and stays warm longer, which is especially noticeable during outdoor winter sessions.
Minor negatives (and they are minor)
Two small points worth mentioning:
- Length/fit creep: very occasionally, the sleeve can slide slightly lower than shown in FLOKY’s diagrams. This happens rarely and may again be linked to sizing.
- Not a miracle cure: if you’re expecting this to “fix” elbow problems on its own, you’ll be disappointed.
Neither issue has stopped me using it consistently.
Sweat management: unexpectedly brilliant
One of my favourite, and least advertised, benefits: sweat control.
I sweat a lot during sport. Being able to wipe sweat from my eyes mid-point without friction burn — even deep into a 2 to 2.5-hour match — is genuinely underrated.
It’s replaced both sweatbands and elbow supports for me.

How many FLOKY arm sleeves should you own?
Each box contains two sleeves.
I currently own four sleeves total, which feels perfect for playing 4–5 times per week. It allows me to wash them once a week and always have a clean pair ready.
I personally hand-wash after each use — partly hygiene, partly ritual. Pulling on a fresh sleeve before a match feels oddly satisfying, like putting on clean socks.
Who I’d recommend the FLOKY No-Strain sleeve to
I'd recommend the FLOK arm sleeve to padel players who:
- Want a feeling of extra support, not immobilisation
- Are currently using sweatbands or elbow straps (this can replace both)
- Are returning from elbow issues who want confidence, not guarantees
- Anybody who enjoys having that extra mental/placebo support by wearing it
If you’re expecting it to compensate for poor technique or a wildly unsuitable racket, it won’t. But if you’re already mindful of how you play, the FLOKY sleeve slots in beautifully.
The FLOKY No-Strain arm sleeve has become part of my standard padel kit. Not because it promises miracles, but because it quietly reinforces good habits, boosts confidence, and makes my arm feel supported without getting in the way.
Is it perfect? No.
Is it over-hyped? Definitely not.
The FLOKY arm sleeve is a smart, well-designed accessory that rewards regular players who care about feel, longevity, and marginal gains.
