The Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 padel racket is the completely updated version of the 2024 bestselling pala, designed by Babolat in collaboration with 'El Lobo', Juan Lebrón.

With its diamond shape, high balance, and cutting-edge technologies, this model is crafted for aggressive players who demand maximum power, spin, and precision on the court.

Whilst the racket itself demands precision, with a relatively small sweet spot, many tennis players who have transitioned to padel, and who are playing with good technique, find the Babolat Viper (2025) ideal for aggressive smashes with its hard surface.

Perfect racket for:

  • Upper-intermediate/advanced left-sided padel players who play aggressive overheads.
  • Those looking for explosive power in smashes, and attacking viboras.
  • Players who are looking for a lighter pala that packs a punch.

What's new on the Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 vs. the Babolat Technical Viper 2025?

Juan Lebrón and Babolat have decided to change a few things for the 2025 version of the Viper, on request from El Lobo, who wanted a softer padel racket with some structural changes after the former World Number One suffered multiple elbow injuries.

Firstly, the Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 has the bridge from the 2021 version of the Viper series, when El Lobo was playing some of his best padel.

This V-style bridge makes the racket more manoeuvrable in attack, and more sturdy for powerful smashes.

The other major change is the switch from 12K Carbon to 3K Carbon, which makes the 2025 Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón softer than the 2024 version.

Juan Lebrón during testing of the Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 has said that he feels the racket now has more control, and a larger sweet spot than previous versions.

If you prefer hard rackets, then the Technical Viper 2025 may be the one for you.

What is the Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 like for smashes?

Smashes are this racket’s forte. The diamond shape and high balance deliver unmatched power, while the 3K Carbon face adds stiffness for explosive, precise smashes. The Spin 3D surface further enhances your ability to add top-spin, making it a lethal choice for offensively-minded padel players.

Is the Babolat Viper 2025 good for volleying?

Yes. While primarily focused on power, the racket’s lightweight build and Holes Pattern Systemensure excellent manoeuvrability at the net. The X EVA core absorbs impact, allowing for controlled volleys and quick responses during fast-paced exchanges.

Does the Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 have good control?

Although designed for power, the Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 offers reliable control thanks to its Spin 3D surface and optimised hole placement. These features allow for precise shots and help players maintain accuracy even during aggressive rallies.

Is the Babolat Viper Juan Lebrón 2025 worth the price?

If you have high technical ability and you know how to use the Babolat Viper, then it is worth the outlay. The Viper (2025) pala is not forgiving if you're just learning padel. Beginner, lower-immediate and some upper-intermediate padel players will struggle to maximise the full potential of this padel racket.

What are the cons of the Babolat Viper?

For players with poor technical ability, the Babolat Viper will be a very difficult racket to adapt to. The small sweet-spot and hard core makes the Viper challenging when defending, with shots like the Chiquita difficult to execute if you lack technique and familiarity with these advanced padel rackets.

The tendency for tennis players to immediately upgrade to the Babolat Viper can be tempting, especially when they feel the power and spin that this racket can generate when smashing.

But tennis players who are transitioning to padel who buy the Viper too soon in their development, may ultimately end up hindering their ability to learn proper technique for the more defensive shots like Chiquitas and Bandejas due to how unforgiving this racket is.
