Our verdict

The Evo Extreme 2025 is the keen edition of Head's starter family: a 360 g even-balanced foam build with a fibreglass face producing power 70 with fair-to-firm terms (comfort 67, tolerance 66) and honest handling (68). Value 78 is solid entry arithmetic. Where the Bolt behaves and the Speed hurries, the Extreme presses: the same forgiving foam platform tuned a notch louder for athletic beginners with attacking intent. The badge and the dealer network do their usual quiet work. Compare against the 2026 edition's price before committing.

Head's keener starter

This is genuinely the more attacking-tuned edition of Head's starter family: real power comes through, with the foam platform staying genuinely forgiving despite the keener tune. It's a major badge at honest entry money. Control wants developing targets, and terms run firm-ish — where the Bolt behaves gently and the Speed hurries, this one presses harder; the newer edition may price better if you can find it.
