Our verdict

The 2023 Speed Pro is the balanced attacker from Head's back catalogue: a head-heavy teardrop with a foam core scoring power 82 against control 72, the head mass lending overheads natural weight while the teardrop keeps tolerance at a fair 67. Comfort 68 is mid-table. Weight documentation is incomplete on remaining stock, so verify in hand. Three seasons of discounting bring value to 78, the card's best number. The honest pitch: current mid-range frames match this card at full price, and this one no longer asks full price. For balanced attackers shopping clearance, it remains a sound answer.

We loved
  • Value 78 after three seasons of discounts
  • Head mass adds free overhead weight
  • Balanced 82/72 attacking card
  • Foam core consistency, Head build quality
Worth knowing
  • Weight spec incomplete: check in hand
  • Old stock: inspect before buying
  • Newer Speed generations handle better

Old-generation Speed, new-generation price

The head-heavy build does real work for you here: that extra mass up top turns into free weight behind every overhead, and the foam core keeps the response consistent point after point. It's a genuinely balanced attacking card for advanced players, and three seasons of discounts have made it a legitimate bargain. It is old stock, though, so inspect condition carefully before buying, and know the newer Speed generations handle a touch better if budget allows.
