Our verdict

The Patron Xtrem is the sharpened 2025 Patron: a 360 g teardrop with an 18K face producing power 82 and a crisper report than the Gold's 12K. Control 70, comfort 67 and tolerance 66 hold the family's firm-but-fair line, and maneuverability 69 benefits from the lighter build. Value 74 carries a small premium for the face upgrade. Between Patrons the choice is texture: the Xtrem strikes crisper and swings lighter; the Gold feels denser and costs less. Both deliver the same essential promise: real pace from the boutique shelf without Piton-grade punishment.

The sharpened edition of the Patron

This is the sharpened version of Black Crown's Patron: a premium carbon face delivers a genuinely crisper report than the Gold edition's simpler weave, while the lighter build aids hand speed without sacrificing real finishing pace. Boutique character comes through in sensible, well-executed form. Comfort and tolerance both hold the family's firm-but-fair line, and the face upgrade does cost a little more — the Gold edition is denser and cheaper if you'd rather save the difference.
