Our verdict
Built for attacking net players at the advanced level, the Wilson Defy LS V1 is a diamond frame with a 265 mm balance point that loads up pace on overheads without becoming a handful. A foam core keeps the feel lively, and the power score of 78 means smashes carry genuine authority. Control at 74 is honest rather than exceptional, so clean striking matters. Our score: 81/100.

Wilson's diamond loads weight toward the head for real finishing pace on overheads and volleys, but it stays light enough to sustain that pace through a long match rather than tiring you out. It's quick to react at the net, too: unusually so for a diamond. Poor contact gets punished here more than in forgiving frames, so clean technique matters, and arm-sensitive players may feel it over a long session. Face material isn't confirmed in our data, so spin behaviour is worth checking in hand.
