The verdict
The Columns Ultra is Vairo's soft-core budget attacker: a 375 g even build with a Soft EVA heart and fibreglass face producing power 75 with the sting partially amortised (comfort 66). Control 66 and tolerance 65 hold the tier's standard terms; handling is honest (68). Value 82 continues the brand's aggressive arithmetic. Within Vairo's budget shelf the Columns is the civilised alternative to the Everlast Cross's full commitment: similar pace, softer landing, same pressure pricing. The familiar closing applies: thin network, honest violence, calculator-approved.
The Soft EVA core here genuinely softens the introduction to attacking play: real power delivered honestly, with comfort benefiting noticeably from the gentler core. Pressure pricing runs throughout, true to the brand's usual arithmetic. Terms outside comfort still run firm-ish, and the European dealer network is thin: the Everlast Cross in the same brand hits considerably harder for similar money if you want more aggression.
